“Qualified Us To Share” Colossians 1:11-14 “May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
Most of us know that to participate in the Olympics you must first qualify in your area of competition. For a basketball team to play in the Final Four they have to first qualify to by winning their division or by having a winning record and then go undefeated. We know that to receive a valuable inheritance from a rich family member or friend, we have to be qualified by the last will and testament and be recognized by the law and court as a rightful heir.
My friend, there is something better and bigger than the Olympics, the Final Four or a valuable estate! We all have the opportunity to qualify to share in an eternal inheritance with all the saints that will last forever!
But you must first recognize that you are a sinner undeserving of any mercy from God. That there is absolutely nothing you can to do by good deeds or religion. But you hear the Gospel, the Good News that Jesus died for you and paid the full price for the punishment for your sin. And you by faith receive this gift of God’s salvation and experience God’s redemption and forgiveness of sins.
Immediately, God’s power and Holy Spirit delivers you from the kingdom, the power, the dominion of darkness and Satan, and God transfers you into a new kingdom that is ruled by His beloved Son, Jesus Christ! How awesome is this!!!!!
And it is all by God’s love, grace and mercy through Jesus Christ! You are now “qualified”, because you are in the right family as a joint heir with Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:17)
And for this, Paul gives thanks to the Father and so should we!
God bless!
“Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul; thank you, Lord, for making me whole. Thank you, Lord, for giving to me— Thy great salvation so rich and free.”
