JESUS: THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED
The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.
PSALM 118:22
Jesus is the chief Cornerstone of God's plan, but He is also the Stone Which the Builders Rejected. There are many reasons why the world rejects Jesus. Some are spiritually blind (see 2 Corinthians 4:3-4); they can't see who Jesus is. Some are hard-hearted; "they willingly are ignorant" (2 Peter 3:5, KJV). Some love their sin and won't give it up to receive Jesus. How will you choose?
Lord, I receive You even though others reject You. I willingly believe in
You when the world rejects Your claims in their lives.
Jesus came to His people, the Jewish people, but they rejected His claims of deity. They charged Jesus with blasphemy at His trial. He offered them salvation (see Matthew 4:17); but they charged Him with treason (see John 19:12), saying that Jesus wanted to be king in place of Caesar. "He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him" (1:11). But the unbelief of that day is no different from that of those who reject Him today. The unbelieving heart will not receive Jesus, because "men [love] darkness rather than light, because their deeds [are] evil" (3:19). Jesus is the Stone Which the Builders Rejected. Will you build your life on Him?
Lord, I will not deny You, no matter how the world reacts. I will build
on You, the Stone. You are my Master and Lord. Amen.
